Construction of the SIG45 is of very high quality, using high quality raw materials, and workmanship of the highest grade in all trades.

The boat was built built by Westerly Marine of Santa Ana, CA, using foam sandwich construction with epoxy resins and pre-preg carbon fibre on male moulds. Bulkheads, where significant savings can be made, in Nomex. Solid laminate is used in high stress areas, such as the sail drive position. Areas where deck fittings exert stress are reinforced and/or have counterplates.

Daggerboard and rudders are autoclaved carbon pre-preg.

Fore and aft bulkheads are watertight, and the forward 50cm is a foam sacrificial crash bow.

The hull is painted with side detailing and double coating of antifouling below the waterline.

Very high quality, ultra light weight interior. Composite honeycomb furniture.

All visible interior hull surfaces faired and painted to the highest standard with semi-gloss paint.
