On Deck Walkthrough

Boarding is easy from either port or starboard sides, or via the drop down transom door.

Her beautiful white gelcoat decks with newer beige sand nonskid are easy on the eyes in bright sunlight, and provide excellent grip.

You will immediately notice her brand new (2017) dodger which provides excellent sight lines, as well as her brand new (2017) Doyle Cradle Cover mainsail cover and lazy jacks, making for easy sail handling.

The Tartan 4100 has a deep cockpit with great seating areas, each with ergonomic features making it comfortable to be in the cockpit underway or at anchor. The deep cockpit is also a wonderfully protected area when in rough weather, or with young children aboard.

The helm pedestal and large steering wheel allow for great visibility in all directions, and the electronics provide all the data you'll need while underway. Engine controls are well placed on the pedestal. All lines are within easy reach, making it possible to single-hand this vessel safely from the cockpit without stepping far from the helm.

Three lazarettes in the cockpit offer propane storage, access to mechanical systems, and ample deep storage.

The bimini provides excellent shade, yet folds up out of the way easily.

Wide side decks, and a low cabin top make moving forward safe and easy. Handholds on the dodger, dorade covers, and lifelines keep crew secure.

Kind of Blue offers all the benefits of a well thought out deck layout, with many recent updates.

Interior Walkthrough

Descending through the companionway, you are immediately greeted by the beautiful open feeling of the main salon. A beautiful teak and holly cabin sole has been protected by rugs, and all of the woodwork is in great condition.

A beautiful U-Shaped settee to port pulls out into a berth, with a centerline table and settee to starboard, 6 guests can comfortably dine. A small, older television is mounted to starboard, and plenty of storage can be found outboard of each settee.

The large navigation station to starboard offers a secure place to sit while underway. Thankfully the nav station has not been modified with too many electronics, but there is plenty of room for additions. Storage abounds, and you'll be able to find organize all navigation equipment, tools, and sailing gear here, leaving the cabin storage for clothing.

Aft of the nav station, is the main entrance to the head. Walking through the door, you enter the shower room, which can be separated from the toilet/sink area by a plexiglass door. Full standing room, with plenty of elbow room, you'll be impressed by the comfort if you ever need to shower onboard. A brand new Jabsco head has been installed (2017), and you'll also find a door to the owners' aft cabin for private entry.

To port is one of the highlights of the Tartan 4100, her enormous galley! A deep refrigerator with 3 access points makes provisioning cooking a pleasurable experience. A small freezer compartment within the refrigerator enables some frozen goods to be carried aboard.

The sink, mounted on the peninsula, allows use from two sides, making space in the galley for the chef. A Force Ten 3 burner stove with oven and microwave are all you need to make gourmet meals, and you will find plenty of storage for all your galley needs.

Aft of the galley is a generous aft cabin with a large double bed on an angle. Plenty of floor space and headroom to comfortable get changed, and more closet space than you'll know what to do with! Private entry to the head is also a great feature of this layout.

The forward cabin v-berth is a very comfortable guest accommodation, with tall hanging storage, several opening vents, and a private vanity.

The Tartan 4100 has a spectacular layout, and incredible volume and headroom for a boat of its size. The condition of the interior aboard Kind of Blue is truly impressive for her age, and shows the care and attention her owners have paid to her over the years.
